The
Damnation Alley
LANDMASTER
Lego Project

The
Landmaster--as it appeared in
the 1979 sci-fi movie Damnation
Alley
Created
based on the vehicle in the 1979 movie, "Damnation Alley", the
Landmaster is proving to be one of the most challenging projects
ever. A tri-wheel drive vehicle is something I had never
created,
and did not realize until I had made the first axle that anyone else
had either. During the building of this monster, I pushed the
limits of Lego--even having one explode under pressure and give me a
black eye. (I am really commited to my art!)
What
is "Damnation Alley"?
For
anyone who is not familiar with "Damnation Alley", it is a
post-apocolyptic tale. George Papard plays a Captain in what
is
left of the world's military forces. Jan Michael Vincent
(Airworlf) is a rookie soldier on a mission to find survivors of World
War III. Our character, the Landmaster, is taken through war
ravaged terrain and through water. Yes, it is
apmhibious!
is it real?
The
Landmaster is a true working vehicle. Debuted in
the film "Damnation Alley". Since
then, a select few have built full size replicas of this incredible
machine. It drives like a tank and swims like a paddle boat.
